Ingo Möll’s everlasting journey went among a myriad of paths over the last decade. Experienced in the craftsmanship of music composing, his work fared from Blues to Dub, from Hip Hop to Psychedelic Rock and beyond. His other projects Ancient Astronauts and Deela are gaining international praise for their own direction of sound, but it’s Kabanjak where you meet his roots.

While experiencing technical problems in his Evergreen Studio in early 2012, he changed his approach to the recording process. This situation opened up a lot of prospects in terms of arrangement and sound aesthetics. These songs are the result of an ongoing experiment and reflect Kabanjak’s love for classic Library Music from the 60’s & 70’s. Live drums clash with psychedelic vibrations and create an intimate collection of sonic poetry, recorded directly to tape machines. Each song is oscillating between wine inducted melancholia and life embracing joy, while the tape hissing is weaving these two worlds into one.

You’ll hear the sound of Kabanjak in its truest form on this record. Out Of The Dark is the reflection of an artist’s life. It’s the undying energy and love which is given and received during the process of creation. It’s the stamina & hard work which is dedicated and sprouts from the inner self of every human being. It’s the desire to look at the horizon and see endless opportunities.


One aspect is certain: Kabanjak’s journey will continue, because like William Blake his “business is to create”.

Dwelling from his Evergreen Studio, where vintage tape machines, drums, samplers and stringed instruments communicate in harmony, the sound of Kabanjak is an ongoing experiment and manifests itself on every release anew.

Even if the biggest constant in his work is "change", the whole process is interwoven with a vivid approach of music production and profound intention. Kabanjak is a modern troubadour, who shares his tales with the world. And thus there are more tales to tell, he won't stop his journey for now.
