    Origine du Groupe : France

Style : Rapcore , Fusion Hard Rock Electronique

    Sortie : 1998

    From Wikipedia :

The Stance Brothers is a new project by Teppo "Teddy Rok" Mäkynen, producer, drummer and live band leader of the globe-trotting Five Corners Quintet. The visionary behind the late Teddy Rok Seven
and producer of such Finnish jazz luminaries as Jukka Eskola and Timo Lassy , Mäkynen and his new Stance Brothers project is a rhythmic force to be reckoned with.

The Stance Brothers represent raw garage jazz in its purest form. Who are these mysterious Stance Brothers? Vibesman Isiah Stance, his bassist brother Dwayne and the phenomenal drummer Byron
Breaks are naturally responsible for the music we hear on the record, but still it seems that they are rather the embodiments of all the lost cult funk legends. The core of The Stance Brothers'
sound stems from countless of hours spent jamming at their dusty garage. The trio's unfaltering will to excel in playing funk-influenced garage jazz comes second only to their passion for
shooting hoops at the nearby basketball court.

A fantastic bit of tripped out funk! Cane & Able were one of the many groups that came out of the collective surrounding the Lafayette Afro-Rock Band in the early 70s — and like that group,
Cane & Able draw on a wide range of influences to create a heavy funky sound. The album mixes the African influences used by the LARB with more of a hard soul vocal approach, with some cuts
sounding a bit like material from Atlantic albums of the late 60s, but handled with more of a fuzzy edge. Includes a great funky reading of Wilson Pickett’s “Don’t Knock My Love”, a cover of “Who’s
Gonna Take The Weight”, and the long tripped-out groover “Girl You Move Me”!

Some argue that the reputation of this release rests on the fact that it was created by the first Jamaican artist other than Bob Marley to compose songs that were written specifically for an
album. Before Marley, Jamaican artists didn't have "albums" as a rule. If a singer had enough popular singles they might be rereleased together on an entire record later, but albums were rarley
    made.

The difference with Burning Spear (Winston Rodney and his back-up singers, Rupert Willington and Delroy Hinds) was that the strength of his music was never with singles. A Burning Spear song by
itself didn't mean as much until you put it in a group of Burning Spear songs. It was with albums that Spear would gain his popularity and here was his first big breakthrough. It was a huge
success in Jamaica and afterwords, Spear was signed up with Island Records until he gradually reached international fame.

This album may not be for everyone. The music is jerky and old sounding. The tracks are short and often repetitive. But there's something ethereally timeless about this set. The music seems to
transcend space and time to make us beleive that it's always been there. As if Winston Rodney brought it with him from his premortal existance to be shared with the world in our present day.
Perhaps I was going through a transitional period in my life when I first heard it, but anything Rodney ever did afterword (even if it was just as good or better) would never feel like this. It
    is truly a unique masterpiece.

P.S. The accompanying band, "The Black Desciples" also deserves mention in helping Burning Spear accomplish this unequaled acheivement.

    Origine du Groupe : U.K , Mali , Cuba

Style : Alternative Fusion World Music , Afrobeat , Latin Music , Experimental

    Sortie : 2010

    Live : U.K (London)

This is a great Kings of Leon Concert DVD, and it ROCKS!!! It was filmed on June 30, 2009, at the "02 Colisium" in London, before a capacity crowd of 18,000 screaming fans. It
consists of 22 songs, and has an approximate running time of 100 minutes. This band was featured in the Rolling Stone, a few months ago. Their picture was on the cover. These brothers and cousin
    - Nathan Followill, Caleb Followill, Jared Followill, & Matthew Followill, were raised in the Southern U.S.A., and currently live in the Nashville area.

This band is currently one of the "hotest" rock bands in the world, and this concert dvd certainly proves why!!! This band has a unique sound, that is all their own. I don't think any other band
could duplicate their sound. This concert features some of their songs from the "Only by the Night" Album Cd, along with some of their classics. Plus this band, is one of the best bands to emerge
within the current decade. It's an original band with all original songs.

Don't believe the review of this dvd in the current issue of the Rolling Stone (they gave it only a 2 star, and they really didn't know what they were talking about.) This band gives it's all in
performing before this 18,000 fan capacity crowd. There are no mediocre performances. This band performs extremely well on each and every song. They knew this was being filmed for a dvd. Their
lead man Caleb Followill has some excellent interaction with the crowd. Plus, the crowd is really into this concert.

All the songs on this dvd were written by the band members themselves. The Key Tracks include: Use Somebody, Sex on Fire, Notion, Molly's Chambers, On Call and the Bucket. All the other songs are
    very good also.

This is a GREAT CONCERT DVD, the filming, the sound, the audience are all GREAT, making this one GREAT Concert DVD!!! If you love Rock, you'll love this one. Thanks!!!!
