Hazmat Modine are a maverick New York band who are shifting from Americana to global influences with remarkable results. Founded by singer-songwriter, guitarist and impressive harmonica-player
Wade Shuman, they are distinctive both because of their range and their line-up: two harmonicas are matched against a three-piece brass section, guitar, steel guitar and percussion. The songs
here are often blues-based, but always different; the opening Mocking Bird starts like a slow work-song and builds into rousing, harmonica and brass-backed folk-blues, while Two Forty Seven is a
finger-clicking burst of brassy R&B, and the title track is an exercise in poetry and blues. The cover songs are equally original, and include a cheerful, spoken treatment of Irving Berlin's
Walking Stick and the harmonica-backed 70s soul of I've Been Lonely for So Long. But the collaborations are even better, with Kronos Quartet adding their strings to the cheerfully rhythmic blues
Dead Crow and Benin's Gangbé Brass Band bringing African jazz influences to Cotonou Stomp and the slinky Child of a Blind Man, where Natalie Merchant provides lead vocals. A brave and unexpected
record.

Peuple.

La Cherga has always understood itself to be an open collective. The many features on "Revolve" provide proof of this.
La Cherga was looking for an MC for the track "Make a change". They found what they were looking for in their current home town of Graz. The upcoming Austrian reggae band Millions of Dreads both
lives and plays there. The MoD MC I-Razor, a Slovene living in Austria, dropped into the studio, leaving a classic reggae toasting behind.
Dubioza Kolektiv, probably the best-known crossover band from the Balkans, were so impressed by the track "One" that they didn't need asking twice and immediately recorded a statement on the
state of the nation and the world in general in the studio in Sarajevo. MC Killo Killo is featured on the album at the specific request of the band. In the track "Votka dot com" he gets to the
heart of the feelings of the expatriate diaspora.
On "Rise Up", Sandy Lopicic - a long time companion of La Cherga producer Nevenko Bucan - does the honours. Although still known to quite a few people as the frontman of the Sandy Lopicic
Orkestar, today he is a director and composer at Graz Theatre.
Overall "Revolve" has developed into an album which highlights the multifaceted La Cherga sound. Great emphasis was placed on classic songwriting for this recording. The brief stopover in
Sarajevo, where the final touches were put to the album, is also unmistakable. It also features tracks which represent the special "Bosnian vibe" such as "Sufi Dub", "VI", "Afgan" or the first
single "Melaha".
Nevenko Bucan
"Right from the beginning La Cherga set their priority on the alternative pop sector. It was always a balancing act between traditional roots elements, contemporary electronic, rock'n'roll, dub,
jazz and pop influences. The important thing is that everything works together as an organic unit. We believe that we have been very successful so far. That is why we also in the meantime call
our sound La Cherga Dub or LCH DUB for short."
Adisa Zvekic
"LA CHERGA have the power which makes it worthwhile to concentrate all your energy and place it into this sound. "Revolve" is the result."

01 Meleha
02 Sufi Dub
03 Resovle and REvolve

German DJ and producer Ruede Hagelstein release his first album next month, entitled Soft Pack.
An experienced producer and one of Watergate's resident DJs, Hagelstein has spent most of his career playing catchy tech house, but Soft Pack shows a different side of his palette. Now backed by
a band he calls The Noblettes, he dabbles in folk, ambient and electronic pop, singing over most of the tracks himself. All of the songs are previously unreleased, and "Emergency," probably his
biggest club track to date, appears here in a new downtempo edit. Like several of his past 12-inches, Soft Pack will come out on Tiefschwarz's label, Souvenir Music.

This AKMusique's album "Lounge Nordique", released by Jazzsick Records in 2009, was added to my catalog of records in February 2010. "Lounge Nordique" is a record in the genre of lounge. This is
a album barely on the edge of being enjoyable — rated 3 stars out of 5. "Lounge Nordique" is related to the region of Germany; it belongs to the german and western-european cultural world zones.
2 out of 13 tracks on this album are marked as favorite, "L'univers" and "French Kiss". Judging by picked selection, most tracks on this record are sung with female voice and instrumentals. They
are also performed in medium profile/energy/mood. If you wanted to know about records similar to this one that we also have in this library, look at “Step Into The Sunshine” (Gary B), “Triggers”
by April March, “Campari Lounge” by various and “Mother” (Susumu Yokota).
