Carla Morrison es una cantante mexicana que radica en Baja California Mexico, cuyo oficio es crear musica con pedales con secuencias y loops, junto con su teclado de efectos y guitarra

A principios del año 2006 Carla comienza a interactuar con diferentes bandas de covers de Rock en español, al final despues de 6 meses decide irse a vivir a Phoenix Arizona (EUA) donde estudia
varios semesters en el departamento de Musica de Mesa Comunnity College, una rama pequeña de la Universidad de Arizona. Dentro de poco tiempo desiste de la escuela y comienza a exponerse a los
medios musicales y forma una banda musical llamada Babaluca que consiste de un trio..una chica en la guitarra (nichole petta) un baterista (nick kizer) y una tecladista y voz (Carla Morrison) y
conforman melodias y sonidos que clasifican la banda indie y bilingue del momento en su ciudad..Fueron al muy poco tiempo entrevistados por la cadena televisora de Univision considerados como un
orgullo hispano y apremiados al poco tiempo por los premios Stylos de la ciudad de Phoenix Arizona, como “La Mejor Banda Indie de Arizona para el 2008” y despues comparten escenarios con Girl in
a Coma, Pastilla, Kinky hasta Babasonicos y son reconocidos y muy bien recibidos en los escenarios prestigiados de la ciudad de Los Angeles California donde al poco tiempo Moises a.k.a “ El
Perro” ex guitarrista de la banda “Los Abandon” quien se convirte en su manager y fueron entrevistados tambien por Alborde.com, y dar una presentacion acustica llamada Alborde Acustic Sessions,
Mucho Wednesday’s y fueron entrevistados por Latino Perpectuve y Phoenix New Times, Club Fonograma.com entre otros.. Carla participo en la grabacion del disco de la cantante Lonna Kelley “ Go
away Closer” donde dio todos los coros sopranos de la mayoria del disco. Y al poco tiempo Babaluca esta casi por terminar su primer album para sacar a la venta en EUA y dando a conocer su salida
de la banda Babaluca.



A prinicipios del año 2009 Carla lanza su primer Ep como solista en Mexico llamado “Aprendiendo a aprender” en los estudios de www.redmondmusic.com en Phoenix Arizona el cual consiste de 6 temas
compuestos y producidos por ella misma y graba un tema extra donde canta y hace honor a la cancion “Tragos de Amargo Licor” de Ramon Ayala. Dando comienzo a su carrera como solista.



Natalia Lafourcade se ofrecio a ayudar a Carla a grabar y producir algo en su casa, simplemente por el hecho de declarase su fan...Carla y Natalia se reunieron en Diciembre 2009 en el DF donde
tuvo la oportunidad de tocar en el Teatro fru fru, siendo telonera de el show del lanzamiento del disco de huhuhu de Natalia lafourcade. Fue entrevistada por la radio de musica alternativa mas
famosa y conocida de la Ciudad de Mexico llamada Reactor 105.7 FM, grabo una session con Clickaporte en Ibero 90.9 asi como tambien “ Esta Soledad” fue seleccionada como la cancion de la semana
en Itunes Mexico y USA. (feb 2010)



Sus Canciones “Esta Soledad” y "Lagrimas" fueron agregadas al OnceTV para la serie televisiba “SOY TU FAN” que saldra al aire este 2010 y sera usada por los 13 primeros capitulos, en esta serie
participan Los actores Ana Claudia Talancon,Martin Altomaro,Oswaldo Benavides,Maya Zapata.



Lo mas reciente.... Carla pasara el mes de Abril en la Ciudad de Mexico, terminando De grabar su nuevo disco a salir en verano 2010 con Natalia Lafourcade, asi tambien Leon (el ex integrante de
Sin Bandera) sera el productor ejecutivo del disco ayudando Con la masterizacion del disco en la ciudad de Nueva York. Tambien Carla sera parte del coro de la presentacion de Julieta Venegas en
el Festival Vive Latino 2010 en la Ciudad de Mexico, el festival iberoamericano mas grande del pais.

Art isn’t limited to Tara Priya’s soul: it’s in her blood. The great-niece of the renowned Persian poet, Sohrab Sepehri, Tara was singing, playing the piano, and writing her first book of poetry
at the tender of age of 4. Born to a Persian mother and an Indian father, Tara was exposed to a diverse mix of music and dance from birth.



The Bay Area native loved to perform and quickly found her way onstage through community theater. Starring in the California Theater Center’s “Thumbelina” convinced Tara’s parents to put her in
voice lessons. By the time she was 11, she was playing the drums in her school jazz band and training opera on the weekends.



That same year, her mother passed away from cancer, leaving Tara to find comfort in writing and music. Performance—whether as a member of the Peninsula Teen Opera Company, as a voice major at The
Harker School’s Conservatory Program, or as a jazz singer in local lounges and cafés—served as both escape and expression. “My teenage years were some of my darkest,” Tara admits, “but they were
also my most creative. Poetry, prose, songs—I couldn’t stop writing.” Her talent didn’t go unnoticed by the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards: at 16, Tara won its National Gold Award.
At 18, she received the Writing Award from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.



Tara trekked on to Columbia University, where she continued jazz and classical voice while majoring in Economics. But despite loving her classes, interning at Merrill Lynch, and performing
throughout New York, the evocative singer couldn’t shake the feeling that her path lay elsewhere. “I kept waiting for that ‘aha!’ moment, when you’ve finally settled in and feel like you belong
,” she explains. “New York and Columbia exposed me to so many new things, and I definitely grew as an artist. But every time I heard young female artists like Amy Winehouse or Rihanna on the
radio, I felt like crying. My heart knew what it wanted.”



Fatefully, Tara discovered that in trying to keep herself busy, she had nearly finished her BA by her second year. In 2009—a year and a half ahead of schedule—she graduated magna cum laude and
left Columbia to pursue a singing career.



The path to stardom is far from straightforward—post-grad, Tara spent months backpacking around the world and did a brief stint in finance to help fund her EP—but if anyone can make the journey,
it’s Tara Priya. Gifted with the remarkable ability to compose a song on the spot, the “retro-soul” singer quickly built up an impressive catalog of blues-tinged songs; her September 2010 EP has
received praise from radio DJs nationwide, garnering airplay on stations such as KTUH, KALX, WGTB, WKCR, and WHAP. She continues to perform in New York and Hollywood’s hottest venues, was
showcased at Nashville’s The Bluebird Café, and, most recently, was honored as one of three Pop finalists in the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

 Le poids des années n’a-t-il pas de prise sur Joe Satriani ? Tout porte à le croire à l’heure où il sort son quatorzième album. Son aventure avec le super-groupe Chickenfoot  a remis
ce génie de la guitare sur le devant de la scène et ce nouvel album, Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards, vient définitivement confirmer que l’inspiration et le goût pour la composition sont
toujours là.

En ce qui nous concerne, Satch est le guitariste, avec Steve Vai, qui symbolise le plus l’alliance de la mélodie et de la technique. Il est vrai que depuis Engines Of Creation notre intérêt pour
le travail du Californien avait lourdement chuté et c’est avec circonspection et curiosité que nous avons abordé Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards, et là, le bonheur enfin retrouvé d’une présence
restée chaudement enfouie dans notre mémoire…



La quintessence de Satch se révèle avec trois albums : Flying In A Blue Dream, The Extremist et Joe Satriani. Trois chefs d’œuvre très différents mais intemporels qui s’écoutent encore
régulièrement avec toujours le même plaisir. C’est une douce impression de ressentir les atmosphères de ces trois albums tout au long de ce disque.

D’abord, le premier morceau, "Premonition" qui déroule une structure simple (souvent le cas avec Satch) mais avec ce qu’il faut de mélodie. Le son s’est un peu asséché et on comprend que
l’aventure Chickenfoot a laissé des traces dans l’inspiration. Prenons le morceau "Pyrrhic Victoria". On se laisse prendre au riff d’entrée qui n’aurait pas juré sur l’album des quatre rockeurs.
C’est une incroyable mélodie, parfaitement aérienne comme seul Satch sait en écrire qui vient casser la fausse nonchalance du morceau. Finis les expérimentations technoïde (malgré tout plutôt
réussie) ou le bazar des derniers albums.



Un des moments les plus incontournables des albums de Satch est la sempiternelle ballade. Le cahier des charges a été un peu modifié sur Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards avec un groove pas
forcément adéquat au pathos digital. "Dream Song" prend forme sur un balayage à la wah-wah et garde jusqu’au bout une sobriété qui fait plaisir à entendre. Deuxième composition qui fait office de
passage obligé, "Wind In The Trees" avec la particularité d’un jeu tremblant à la wah-wah qui n’est pas courant chez Joe et qui vient quelque peu déconstruire tous les codes de la ballade
larmoyante estampillée Satriani.



Ceux qui ont aimé l’album éponyme gardent en mémoire un blues très abrasif avec une section rythmique très âpre de Manu Katché et Nathan East. Le jeu de Satriani y était juste et l’album une
vraie réussite. La finesse du jeu se retrouve ici avec la pesanteur de "Littleworth Lan"» dont une légère parenté avec le génie Jeff Beck est tentante. Cas presque similaire avec "Two Sides To
Every Story" qui lorgne plus vers le jazz et la funk mais avec la même justesse. A noter le bel apport de Mike Keneally aux claviers pour créer l’ambiance si entraînante de ce morceau, et au
piano lors des phrases finales de "Wind In The Trees". "The Golden Room" nous ramène directement, et de manière troublante, à The Extremist avec ses rythmes indiens et cette wah-wah si
caractéristique.



L’excellent Noise, dans sa chronique de Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock, écrivait : "Joe Satriani signe donc là un très bon album, même si la magie qui entourait ses débuts a
tendance à disparaître au fil du temps". Bien que grand thuriféraire de Satch devant l’éternel, je ne pouvais pas donner tort à Noise. J’affirme qu’avec ce nouvel album la magie est de
retour.

Bass Heavy Remixes and Dub Versions of the Complete Dub Side of the Moon



Following another celebrated run of global touring, the Easy Star All-Stars are geared up to release Dubber Side of the Moon on October 26. Inspired by the burgeoning dub step scene and dub
visionaries such as On-U Sound’s Adrian Sherwood and Mad Professor, the Easy Star All-Stars have compiled the ultimate remix collection of their much lauded reggae smash Dub Side of The Moon.
Each track features a unique dub producer exploring spaced-out reggae and bass-heavy remixes of the original Dub Side of the Moon – a reggae tribute to Pink Floyd’s iconic Dark Side of the Moon.
Dubber Side also includes 4 bonus remixes (as well as 2 additional bonus tracks exclusive to the iTunes release).



Originally released in 2003, Dub Side of the Moon was followed by Radiodread (2006) and Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band (2009), establishing Easy Star All-Stars as one of the top international
reggae acts of the last decade. The band has amassed over 300,000 album sales and is equally successful in live appearances, playing over 125 shows in 25 countries on 6 different continents in
2009 alone.



In fact, the idea of reinterpreting Dub Side spawned from the band’s intense touring schedule. They were continually being exposed to new dub and reggae offshoots around the world. “We really
wanted to evolve these songs and put them in the hands of producers who might take it in new directions,” explains Easy Star Records’ Lem Oppenheimer. “It seemed like a good way to bring some of
this newly developing futurist reggae right into our own music.” It was essential to find a balance between the classic dub masters and the new generation of bass-line enthusiasts, while also
managing to express the band’s musical outlook and development.



Mad Professor had previously worked on the Radiodread album and was an obvious choice, as were John Peel favorites Dreadzone and Adrian Sherwood, both of whom fit into what Easy Star Records
likes to call the ‘dub master vibe.’ Mad Professor’s mix is typically off the wall, whilst Adrian Sherwood manages to create a wall of sound through his adventures in space echo. The All-Stars’
resident soundman The Alchemist’s interpretation of ‘Money’ is a bass bleeder from the start and is probably the track that fits easiest into the dub step category, but Kalbata’s might be the
most innovative mix on the album. Israeli born and signed to Soul Jazz Records, his mix merges the tech sound into dub-step. Boston’s mysterious 10 Ft Ganja Plant and Canada’s Juno-Award Winning
Dubmatix both provide roots heavy remixes to the album.

Pour son premier album en solo, Luisa Maita s’annonce en entreprise de séduction : voix sensuelle, musique sobre et élégante, compositions qui respirent le clame plutôt que la tempête et signent
la marque de la jeune génération brésilienne.



Pour autant, Luisa Maita n’est pas une nouvelle météorite tombée de nulle part : une enfance bercée de musique, un père lui-même musicien (Amado Maita dont l’unique album enregistré en 1971 fait
la joie -ou la rage- des collectionneurs), l’agitation branchée de Bexiga, le quartier bohème de Sao Paulo. Et puis, plus tard, le calme de la campagne, la voix qu’on apprivoise sur les standards
de la la bossa ou du jazz de Billie Holiday et Shirley Horn…. Avant de se lancer en groupe d’abord (Urbanda) et en solo désormais, en écrivant tout, pour elle et pour d’autres.



Sa voie, si elle ne creuse pas de nouveau sillon suit celui de sa génération, de Céu d’abord à qui on la compare immédiatement, Seu Jorge ou Marcelo D2, une génération qui a appris de la bossa et
du pouvoir magnétique de son swing tranquille. Lero Lero est le fruit de ces années d’apprentissage et de découverte, une collection d’instants glanés ici et là, plein de promesses.

It's not so uncommon to see classically trained pianists turn to electronic music production. After all, it's not a huge stretch from the piano to a midi controller keyboard. It's considerably
rarer to find producers who are actually cellists and violinists by training. But Rena Jones is certainly not your garden variety producer. She's a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer with
more than 20 years of classical violin study and 12 years of the cello behind her. That background is reflected in Indra's Web, her fourth solo album and the first on her newly established label,
Cartesian Binary Recordings.



Indra's Web weaves together weighty downtempo electronica with swooning modern classical, with Jones backed up on more than half of the album by three string players from the New Millennium
Orchestra. Jones is also credited with vocals, mixing, programming and Rhodes, and the album also features a live drummer, a clarinetist and a vocalist.



In addition to the graceful strings, the album is marked by a hefty bottom end and gently skittering percussion. And the intricate and spellbinding compositions, which do full justice to the
album's name. Indra's Web is a metaphor found in Buddhism and Hinduism for "the structure of reality, representing the interconnectedness and interdependency of all things, describing a rich and
diverse universe where infinitely repeated mutual relations exist between all its elements and entities."



That's as good a way as any to describe the music. It immediately grabs hold of you and sucks you in but the songs are not so easily digested on first listen. They're subtle and, like elaborate
labyrinths, they take time to reveal themselves. You need to explore the nooks and crannies before you can find your way out. But they're beautiful, enchanted labyrinths, green and flowery, and
time moves in hazy slow motion inside them.



I will resist the urge to discuss individual songs (except to say that the one-two punch of On the Drift and Point of Existence is a knockout). Suffice it to say that Indra's Web is an extremely
rewarding album and unique in the way it combines beat-driven electronic music with classical moods. It's seamlessly done, blurring completely the lines between genres. It's as good an
illustration as any of the inevitable futility of categorizing art. This is simply beautiful music that will endure.
